
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese form of energy healing that works as a complementary therapy. The word ''Reiki'' comes from 'rei' which means universal, and 'ki' which means vital energy (pronounced as ''chi''). A Reiki practitioner aims to re-align the patient's energetic fields in and around their body. Through the channeling of universal energy, the practitioner removes the stagnation, helps the flow of energy - and thus assists at a physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual level.
In a healthy body, energy flows freely. However, during physical or emotional trauma, energy can stagnate in regions of the body, that long term can materialize into illness.
